Can Cryptocurrency & Quantum, Change History’s Repeated Revolutionary Loops

In Articles, Cryptocurrency, Decentralized Private Network, Quantum Cybersecurity

Inspired by a documentary I saw on cable TV and from all the articles, posts, comments and individuals I’ve read or listened to through the net; I’d like to present to you (from my perspective) the situation in which we stand right now. As it happens, is no other than the beginnings of yet another revolution in our boringly repeated history; very exciting. Right?!

Brief & succinct history of revolutions and its impact on Rational Creatures (RCs)

At a first glance, we can observe that cryptocurrencies follow the pattern of a wanna be revolution. It has the common cause of improving democracy, in this case the MINTING Industry. There is a written manuscript (transferred to C code) and it already has its hero, in this case secret; Satoshi Nakamoto. The stage is set!

Unfortunately if we follow the patterns of revolutions brought by us, Rational Creatures (RCs), the endings are quite different from its first purposes; to say the least. Backing this pattern are the greatest revolutions there have been in the RC’s world. Starting with the Greek Democracy, that evolved into the Roman Empire, leading to the greatest revolution of them ALL, the Religious Revolution, acting as first swords Catholicism, Muslicism and Hinduism.

Other well-known RC impacts are the Industrial Revolution which simply brought a huge cloud of pollution to the great societies of the RCs and let’s not forget the child labor. Returning to the ethical revolutions, the creation of the United States of America is an obvious one, what it turned into, well you just have to check the news and you know what the great ideals of the founders of the USA, turned into.

There are more examples, but I don’t want to bore you with more details, I believe the point has been made.

Why are revolutions spoiled prats?

Revolutions are like immaculate babies that have many parents, the pride and joy of their parents and as is the RC’s natural behavior, they brag and show-off its abilities and developments. As these babies grow, they start to gain their own thoughts and powers through the aid of other enlightened RCs. In its teenage years it becomes mainstream and omnipresent. Open to ALL types of decision taking, that had never occurred to the parents and their immaculate babies would have to answer.

Now this magnificent grown up doesn’t have the knowledge or abilities to stop him falling into the pit-hole of lies, corruption, interests, money-laundering, war-making, weapon-selling, money-making, drug-selling, etc.. In which he found his predecessors and ironically enough, to pinpoint here, a pit-hole, s/he promised to never succumb to.

This is a succinct overview of RCs Revolution Repeated Timeline and its effect on the RC. To talk about the effects they had on the planet would deviate us too much. So let’s continue. In the middle of ALL these revolutions, MONEY or let’s say CURRENCY, has always played a key role.

Money/Currency always a key role player

To understand this statement we must know that money as we know it, isn’t what we are talking about here. It’s Currency, which means something that you can divide and combine in parts, carry around comfortably, create exchange value and has a consensus to it by the majority.

Main ingredients for creating a currency

  1. Divide-&-Combine
  2. Moveable
  3. Exchange value
  4. Consensus-By-Majority

From this perspective money in its essence can be whatever the consensus decides it to be. At this present point in time we use paper, coin and card (debit/credit) currency. The value of these different moneys, has consensus from a majority who decided that the value of money stands on the bullions stocked in the Government’s Treasuries.

It’s a fact that during history’s chronology, currency/money has had an ample election, from physical edible products, olive oil, salt and coffee to inedible materials, horns, precious gems, silver and gold.

Cryptocurrency is bringing to mainstream society a revolutionary option when it comes to deciding what currency to use. A concept far from being mainstream. It’s not like I have currencies at home and use one today and another one tomorrow; like T-SHIRTS! I imagine you don’t either.

Well as mindboggoling as it may seem, it’s what’s happening right now. Cryptocurrencies have a growing global consensus, due to the creation of a currency with the power to eliminate the middleman or third party by adding instead, a C code to build a CPU network of nodes that store blocks, powerful enough to de-bank centralization consensus in the art of minting; alarming powerful governments based on strong centralized structures.

Who is/are Satoshi Nakamoto and, does it really matter?

Someone or a group, published 10 years ago, the famous ‘Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System’, that made the option of choosing a decentralized currency a reality. Its mathematical calculations, converted to C code have brought a consensus around it, due to, as stated above, its elimination of third parties in transactions.  Thus creating decentralization and the transparencies with which it executes.

To understand this practice, it’s best to know the meaning of some useful words, so instead of adding a link with it’s anchor text, making you leave this post; no bueno. I’ll present the terms, if I miss a term or two, please excuse moi.

Useful vocabulary in cryptocurrency

  • CPU (Central Processing Unit) – ‘is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions.’ (Wikipedia)
  • Node – ‘…is just a term for a single computer, or processing point. Another term that has some overlap is “endpoint”. A node could be a desktop computer, a server, a virtual machine, etc.’ (Shane Bishop @ Quora)

  • Hash – ‘…value (or simply hash), also called a message digest, is a number generated from a string of text. The hash is substantially smaller than the text itself, and is generated by a formula in such a way that it is extremely unlikely that some other text will produce the same hash value… (Webopedia)

  • SHA-2 (Secure Hash Algorithm 2) – ‘is a set of cryptographic hash functions designed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA).[3] They are built using the Merkle–Damgård structure, from a one-way compression function itself built using the Davies-Meyer structure from a (classified) specialized block cipher. … The SHA-2 family consists of six hash functions with digests (hash values) that are 224, 256, 384 or 512 bits: SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, SHA-512/224, SHA-512/256.’ (Wikipedia)

  • IP (Internet Protocol address) – …’is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.[1][2] An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.’ (Wikipedia)

  • C (programming language) – ‘…is a general-purpose, imperative computer programming language, supporting structured programming, lexical variable scope and recursion, while a static type system prevents many unintended operations.’ (Wikipedia)

  • ICO (Initial Coin Offering) – Is a type of funding using cryptocurrencies. In an ICO, a quantity of cryptocurrency is sold in the form of “tokens” (“coins”) to investors and speculators for legal tender or other cryptocurrencies. The tokens sold are promoted as future functional units of currency if or when the ICO’s funding goal is met and the project launches. (Wikipedia)

  • Blockchains – is the method that has provided a practical use to Satoshi’s whitepaper and has become one of the tools to control Quantum. Decentralized Private Network Blockchain.

If you’re familiar with these terms continue, if not, once you get to grip with these terms, continue reading.

The Satoshi Nakamoto Open-source White Paper

In his/hers/their white paper Satoshi proposes and presents the tools necessary to build this new virtual currency. So here we have the ‘Communist Manifesto’, Marx; just one of the multiple examples posible (Republic, Plato / Bible / Declaration of Independence).

At a first instance it seems there is no show-offing by the parent/s, they want to remain anonymous. Could this be the key to the enigma?! To this constant, repeated, boring revolutionary loop. Something has been done differently this time. But real problems appear when the revolution is in its full maturity, mainstream.

According to Satoshi, mathematical calculations + CPU-Honest Nodes + Blockchains = a decentralized, transparent and P2P currency system. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency, and baby of Satoshi. At present the list is quite long although the main cryptocurrencies are, Bitcoin, Ethereum, EOS and Litecoin.

For nearly a decade this currency has been developed, updated, developed again and updated. As to the mainstream force, there’s still, as should be, a lot of insecurity and doubt towards these new virtual currencies. Not surprising, coming from centralized institutions, governments, banks and the bulk of the population that prefer the blue pill.

If we stop for a second and reconsider the pattern of a revolution, and apply it to cryptocurrency and Satoshi; we fall back into the pattern. Is this bad? No. Once the governments get involved, something big is going to happen or wanting to happen, awaiting for people to come together.

Is it something good or bad? That’s something that RCs have to work-out individually, training and providing a balanced diet to the RC’s decision making muscle; the BRAIN. Cryptocurrency has not achieved yet the status of a Mainstream Currency. Will it? Only time can tell. Indeed it did. It presented to the cryptocurrency and the rest of the world; the so rejected, by Einstein, Quantum Theory.

What is Quantum and how does it affect the world in which the RC lives

I’m no expert on the matter or pretend to be, but I do understand the strange world that Quantum is, musically I would label it as ‘deep psychedelic electronic music’. Although it’s in our RC’s feelings where quantum acquires a much better perspective. We can have as the song says ‘…lost that Lovin’ Feeling’ and thus be living in mixed emotions.

Literally, one second you hate that RC, the next second you love that RC again. Have you ever been in that state of anger with someone you love? One minute you want to kill them, the next you want to kiss them… That’s quantum for you, a state or surrealistic consciousness where strange things begin to happen.

A place where particles are in a state of superposition and can literally be at different spots simultaneously. It’s a spooky place where logic loses power and surrealism comes in very handy.

If you’ve got the picture continue reading, if my explanation leaves you in doubt, refer to (article on quantum computing, in Q1N Blog). Continuing with quantum, how does this affect the lives of the RCs, I imagine you’ll be thinking.

One of the main obstacles that quantum has brought to the scientist community is the fact that transistors have reached the minimal size. Constructing small transistor means quantum and this means particles behaviour becomes strange and inexplicable. Computers are coded through static 1s and 0s (binary), in quantum these static 1s and 0s can change from 1 to 0 or vice versa.

Big problem for security! If a 1 is ordered to close it follows a set path. In quantum this order is not followed. You can see the problems that can uprise if (more like when) a quantum computer were to be built. These types of machines would be able to hack any static 1s and 0s computer that works with bytes. Qubits are what bytes are to our everyday PC or laptop. And are tremendously more powerful than bytes.

Byte, Qubit & Qudit

We have the opportunity of changing the revolution cycle…
